If you need to change your Wi-Fi passwords, follow the steps below.

Note: These instructions relate to the MyRepublic Wifi Hub+, MyRepublic Halo and TP-Link modems. If you're using your own modem, please contact the manufacturer to find out the best way of changing your Wi-Fi passwords.

Changing Wi-Fi Username and Password

Wifi Hub+

  1. Connect a laptop or PC directly to your modem via ethernet cable
  2.     Open a webpage
  3.     Enter 192.168.1.1 in the address bar
  4.     In 'username' and 'password' field, type 'admin' and 'admin'
  5.     Click on the 'Wireless' tab

  6.    Scroll down to 'Access Point' and can change the 'SSID' name (this is the Wi-Fi network name) and alter the 'wireless password'.

Halo Modem

  1. Connect a laptop of PC directly to your modem via ethernet cable
  2. Open a webpage
  3. Enter 192.168.1.1 in the address bar
  4. In 'username' and 'password' field type 'admin' and 'admin'
  5. Click on the 'Settings' icon beside the wi-fi 2.4 GHz or Wi-Fi 5 GHz tab mceclip1.png
  6. Go to 'Basic' tab, you can change the 'SSID' name (this is the Wi-fi name). Scroll down and go to 'Security' to alter the 'password.' Click on 'Apply' for the changes to take effect

TP-Link Modem

  1. Connect a laptop of PC directly to your modem via ethernet cable
  2. Open a webpage
  3. Enter 192.168.1.1 in the address bar
  4. In 'username' and 'password' field type 'admin' and 'admin'
  5. Login to the modem and go to Basic > Wireless > Wireless Settings page
  6. Select 2.4GHz or 5GHz to change the corresponding settings. mceclip11.png

Default password

MyRepublic will send you a Wi-Fi fridge magnet with the default username and password for the Halo and WiFi Hub+ modems. If you cannot locate this, the default password is also shown on the underside or back of your modem.
