Your home phone service is activated after your internet has been provided. We will send you an email with your Home Phone settings for you to set up the modem. Setting up your home phone (VoIP) on a MyRepublic connection requires a few unique pieces of information. Use this guide for connecting your home phone with your MyRepublic TP-Link modem.

You will need the following information to configure the modem:

  • Telephony Provider: other
  • Phone Number*: your Phone Number starting with area code in the format 61xxxxxxxxx
  • Registrar Address: sip.myrepublic.com.au
  • Authentication ID: your Phone Number starting with area code in the format 61xxxxxxxxx
  • Password*: The unique SIP Password was emailed to you when your phone service was activated

Advanced Fields 

  • Registrar Port: 5060
  • SIP Proxy: sip.myrepublic.com.au
  • SIP Proxy Port: 5060
  • Outbound Proxy: 0.0.0.0
  • Outbound Proxy Port: 5060
  • Do Not Select Option: Register via Outbound Proxy
  • Do Not Select Option: Enable Anonymous Call

MyRepublic TP-Link modem phone setup

STEP 1 - Connect the telephone

  • Connect your telephone to the Phone1 or Phone2 ports on the modem back panel with a phone cable (type RJ11)

STEP 2 - Login to the modem

  • Connect a device to the modem's WiFi or a yellow ethernet LAN port via an ethernet cable
  • Open a web browser on your device and enter address: 192.168.1.1
  • When prompted enter the following credentials to log into the TP-Link Modem Web Interface:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: admin

STEP 3 - Configure the telephone number:

  • From the TP-Link Modem Web Interface:
  • i. Click on the Basic tab from the top menu bar
  • ii. The Telephony menu will appear on the left hand side,
  • iii. Select the Telephone Numbers menu option
  • iv. Click on Add under Telephone Numbers page

  • you will then be presented with the following screen, enter the corresponding values as provided at the start of this article then click Save when finished

STEP 4 - Test the phone connection

  • Your modem should automatically register within 2-5 minutes to complete the setup 
  • When you have a dial tone, try both outgoing and incoming calls to confirm service operation
